Shantel VanSanten attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She began her career as a model when she was just 15; she got further exposure when she joined the NBC reality series Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Model Search, where she was eliminated on the very first episode.
In 2008, VanSanten played Janie Sawyer alongside Mischa Barton in the movie “You and I,” based on a Russian novel. The film is about a lonely American teenager (Barton) who is living in Moscow as she bonds with a local girl (VanSanten) over their mutual obsession with a Russian pop duo. VanSanten also filmed an episode of “CSI:NY,” alongside Melina Kanakaredes and Eddie Cahill.
Shantel VanSanten began her acting career with a series of TV movie roles in 2005's Three_Wise_Guys, 2006's Savage_Spirit, and 2007's Spellbound. After a few big-screen movie roles in In_My_Pocket and The Open Door, VanSantel was cast in a starring role in the 2009 horror film The_Final_Destination. That same year, VanSanten joined the cast of the hit CW series One Tree Hill as Quinn James
